CME on “Current Concepts of Dry Eye and Its Management” Organized by Postgraduate Department of Ophthalmology GMC Sgr
The Postgraduate Department of Ophthalmology organized a Continuing Medical Education (CME) program on 20th June 2025, focusing on the important and evolving topic: “Current Concepts of Dry Eye and Its Management.”
The CME was graced by the esteemed presence of Prof.( Dr). Junaid S Wani , Head of the Department of Ophthalmology, along with distinguished faculty members, senior residents, and postgraduate students of the department.
The academic session featured three insightful lectures:
- Shah Nawaz, Associate Professor, spoke on "Tear Hyperosmolarity in Dry Eyes," shedding light on its diagnostic importance and clinical implications.
- Rakshan Malik, Senior Resident, presented on "Omega Fatty Acids in Dry Eyes," discussing nutritional and therapeutic roles.
- Aashna Gupta , Postgraduate Student, elaborated on "Systemic Diseases in Dry Eyes," exploring multi-system involvement and interdisciplinary approaches to management.
Following the lectures, an interactive session was held, facilitating discussions on various clinical aspects of dry eye disease. Particular attention was given to gadget overuse among children, a growing concern in the digital age, and the unique challenges of diagnosing and managing dry eyes in pediatric patients.
The CME proved to be an enriching academic experience, promoting updated knowledge and collaborative dialogue among participants.
