Block Hazratbal is one of the oldest as well as biggest Block and Field Practice Area for Department of Community  Medicine, Govt. Medical Collage Srinagar, consisting  (1) one Sub District Hospital (4) Four UPHC's (Nishat, Harwan  Tailbal & SMHS), (7) Seven NTPHC's and (5) Sub Centre’s under the jurisdiction of Block Hazratbal.  Recently UPHC Nishat had been nominated as “Star” Hospital with bed strength of 17 Oxygen supported beds. Sub District Hospital, Hazratbal at present is providing multi specialty health care services viz Medical (General)OPD / IPD, Obst. & Gynecology OPD / IPD, Labor Room, Minor OT, Immunization, OPD for Dentistry, Ophthalmology, Radio-diagnosis viz; Ultrasonography, X-Ray, ECG, etc.  The average OPD per day is approximately 900 patients with over 30 to 50 patients as IPD in 24 hours. In addition there is a Muffasil Sanitation wing( Hazratbal Shrine) having sanction strength of 42 posts, meant for sanitation of  Hazratbal Shrine and surrounding parks however it goes beyond adjourning area upto old bus stand & market. As SDH Hazratbal is the first hospital for touchdown to all the emergency patients from boundries through Ganderbal from North upto Faqir Gujree, Batapora, Tailbal, Nishat, Hazratbal, Takinwaripora as well as from outside the Block. It is pertinent to mention here that the Sub District Hospital has been awarded National (NQAS) National quality Assurance standard certificate, and has been appreciated at National level.
